Department Achievements

One of our students Maaz Ahmed Khan founded “Torq Electric”, a promising electric vehicle start-up. “Torq Electrc” was recently selected as one of the top 25 start-ups at the Google Student Start-up Boot camp - Class of 22, a program designed to provide mentorship and resources to student entrepreneurs. They were also named finalists at the Global Student Entrepreneurship Award (GSEA) and were runners-up at both the Dubai Start-up Conclave and Mahindra University. “Torq Electric” continues to impress as they recently won the Most Celebrated Start Up Award at EdVenture Park 2022, further demonstrating their commitment to innovation and success.

The department of mechanical Engineering has become an excellence hub providing advanced training to not only internal students but also offering the training programs to other engineering college students. During the last academic year, the department has offered the following technical training programs.

Fifteen of our students participated in a training on Solid Edge software . The training is offered in collaboration with Siemens Digital Industries Software, United States.  The training was conducted using a moodle course created with videos & practice models provided by Mr. Doug Stainbrook, Solid Edge Academic Technical Manager, Mainstream Engineering, Siemens Digital Industries Software, United States. At the end of the course students attempted the certification exam and certified by Siemens.

Seventy seven mechanical engineering students from different engineering colleges including our students have participated in a training program on Solidworks to prepare for the prestigious exam CSWA offered by Dassault Systems. Sixty two students cleared the exam certified as Design Associates by Dassault Systems.

As a part of MOU, the department of mechanical engineering collaborated with Paramount Auto Bay Services (PABS) in providing training for the course “Automobile Technician Training “being offered by Paramount Auto Bay Services (PABS) in association with Indo German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC).

The curriculum being offered is developed by IGCC and includes theory classes and practicals. While the theory classes are being offered by Methodist College of Engineering & Technology, the practical training is offered by PABS.
